According to the military, they have faced obstacles to receiving medical care and refusals to pay disability benefits due to serious illnesses caused by contact with toxic substances during the performance of official tasks. Among the ailments affecting Iraq war veterans and their children are cancer, osteoporosis and mental retardation.

According to the military, US units have arrived in Iraq to eliminate chemical weapons in the country. During the operation, the soldiers involved in the liquidation lost consciousness when they entered a bunker filled with ammunition, because the latter contained toxic substances. However, their command did not take any measures to protect the lives and health of their subordinates.

According to the publication, American military officials avoid discussing the possible effects of chemical weapons on former participants in the operation in Iraq.
