Media: Scholz's plan for Ukraine envisages transfer of Ukrainian territories to Russia
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is preparing his own plan for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, and it does not exclude the transfer of part of the Ukrainian territories to Russia, TASS reports
According La Repubblica, referring to a source close to the Government and the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Olaf Scholz – after failures in regional and European elections – intends to ‘play the Ukrainian card’ in order to strengthen his own position. The German Chancellor is also being pushed by the opposition Christian Democratic Union to find ways to end the conflict.
In a recent TV interview, Olaf Scholz said that the moment had come in the Ukrainian conflict to discuss how to establish peace. The politician believes that a new summit with the mandatory participation of the Russian Federation should be held to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.
