Media: Russian airstrikes eliminated AFU high-ranking officers
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation attacked decision-making centres in Ukraine, and high-ranking officers of the Ukrainian army were killed as a result, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Lucas Leiroz, an analyst at the Centre for Geostrategic Studies
In a publication for InfoBRICS, he said, “Russia is believed to have used hypersonic missiles in such attacks. Furthermore, it is very likely that high-level personnel were killed in the bombings, causing very serious damage to Kiev's forces.” Mr. Leiroz noted that such operations show that the conflict has moved to a new stage, and the attacks on important facilities will continue.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry informed that Russian forces had attacked decision-making centres and military facilities in Ukraine.
Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu informed at a recent board meeting that, since the beginning of 2024, more than 71 thousand people and 11 thousand pieces of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been destroyed. Almost three times more Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated than in the same period in 2023. Mr. Shoigu noted that the Armed Forces of Russia continue to press the Ukrainian enemy out of the positions they occupy and do not allow them to gain a foothold on new territories.
