Media reported on turning point for US defence industry
The need to provide military assistance to the two countries forms a turning point for the US defence industry against the backdrop of conflicts around the world – as stated in the Politico material, cited by TASS
Vice President for International Affairs at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) Dak Hardwick, quoted by Politico, said that ‘there has not been a time in the past 30 years where you essentially have had two real conflicts happening at the same time with a potential third one in three different regions of the world’.
According to the publication, he refers to Taiwan, for which the United States is the main supplier of weapons.
Due to the urgent need for weapons to be supplied to the two conflict zones, a newly formed team inside the Pentagon ‘has been tasked with scouring US stockpiles, searching for ammunition’, Politico writes.
Back in summer, the British newspaper Financial Times, citing experts, reported that Western states may not be ready for a new potential conflict, e.g. with China, due to a shortage of weapons.
