Media: Queen of Britain refused to shake hand with Macron's wife

The wife of the British monarch Charles III, Queen Camilla, reacted coldly to the attempt of French President Emmanuel Macron's wife Brigitte to shake her hand at an event on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the D-D Day Landings in Normandy, RIA Novosti reports with reference to The Daily Mail

As noted by the source, there was an awkward moment between Camilla and Brigitte Macron: the latter violated royal protocol by trying to take Queen Camilla's hand at the D-Day memorial in Normandy.

It is reported that the incident occurred at the British memorial in the Normandy commune of Vere-sur-Mer. The posted video features how, after laying wreaths at the monument, the first lady of France is looking for Camilla's hand to clasp it. The queen does not respond to the gesture, but Macron's wife slightly squeezes the hand of the royal person, after which she immediately releases it.
