Media: N. Korea launched missile towards Sea of Japan

Yonhap News Agency, referring to the South Korean military, stated that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea launched a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, RIA Novosti reports

“North Korea fired what appeared to be an intermediate-range missile into the East Sea [Sea of Japan],” the publication reads. 

Information about the purpose of the missile launch is not provided.
