Media: Hungary, Slovakia against arms supply to Ukraine
The Hungarian and Slovak authorities are in favour of finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine and do not support the provision of weapons to the AFU – as stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, TASS reports
Following talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, the Hungarian diplomat said the governments of Hungary and Slovakia hold the same views on the most important EU issues at the moment, “We want peace in Ukraine, we do not see a solution to the conflict in the supply of weapons. We also want to stop the waves of illegal migration.”
Mr. Szijjártó clarified that the countries oppose the new migration strategy of the European Union, recommended by Brussels. Moreover, the fact that Hungary and Slovakia solve the issue of energy supply, guided by common sense, and not ideology, creates an important link between them.
