Media: Egypt asked Americans to help in strengthening its borders due to Gaza situation

Politico reported that Egypt has asked for US support in the form of funding and equipment for border security in case the Israeli operation in Rafah forces Gazans to flee to the Egyptian border, RIA Novosti reports

It is noted that Egypt has asked the US to consider providing assistance in the form of additional funding and the supply of new military gear. Egypt has asked the US for security and radar systems to secure its border with the Gaza Strip in preparation for Israel’s ground invasion of Rafah.

According to the publication, the additional funding and equipment requested by Egypt will help its military cope with a potential influx of Gazans to the border.
