Malkina: turnover of goods and services increased in EAEU
The current account balance increased in most EAEU member states in late 2022 compared to 2021 – as noted by EEC official representative Iya Malkina
“According to balance of payments data, the turnover of goods and services increased in most member states. The turnover of trade in goods grew at the highest rate in the EAEU in Armenia. Russia’s merchandise trade surplus reaches a record $308bn in 2022; in Belarus this indicator became positive for the first time since 2012,” said Iya Malkina.
According to her, the turnover of services increased in most of the EAEU states following the results of last year.
“There has been an increase in international trade in services in Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In the structure of exports and imports of services in most states, the largest shares fell on transport services and travel. Among other types of services in Armenia and Kazakhstan, telecommunications, computer and information services stood out, and in Russia, additionally construction and other business services.”
