Lukyanov on huge number of people who want to work on Brest Fortress construction site: it’s actually a stir
Today, the works on the Republican Centre for Patriotic Education of Youth have been launched in the Brest Fortress. The honourable mission of being the first to start the construction of a landmark facility fell to the Spadchyna construction team of the Brest State Technical University, since it was the head of this student brigade, Semen Lyulkovich, who appealed to President Aleksandr Lukashenko with a request to entrust the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) with participation in the creation of the Republican Centre for Patriotic Education of Youth and to declare the construction an All-Belarusian Youth Construction project.
“This is a very important facility for us, young people,” said Semen Lyulkovich. “Here youngsters will study the history of our country, the history of statehood, the history of wars. Here schoolchildren will receive all-round development – both spiritual and physical. I hope that our youth will be raised as true patriots, will live in our country and do everything to make Belarus beautiful and rich.”
The first student team comprising of 15 people will work on site for two to four weeks. Then construction teams from other regions of Belarus will join the process. Today, the co-ordination headquarters for construction and attracting volunteers has begun its work.
Addressing the students, the First Secretary of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, Aleksandr Lukyanov, noted that there are a lot of willing volunteers ready to work on the Brest Fortress construction site, “There are a lot of people who want to work here, it’s actually a stir. We expect that by 2025 – the anniversary of the Great Victory – we will have completed the planned amount of works and put the educational buildings and the surrounding area into operation.”
