“Dear compatriots! I cordially congratulate you on National Unity Day – a celebration of historical justice, symbolising the national revival of Belarus,” the President addressed his compatriots. “On September 17th, 1939, the eternal desire of Belarusians to live in their territory as a single family in peace and harmony was realised. Since then, we have learned the truth: to remain independent, we must be strong economically, politically and spiritually.”
As noted by the President, 85 years ago, Belarusians’ ancestors reunited for the sake of creation for the benefit of a common future. “Step by step, through labour and military victories, talent and energy, millions of people strengthened statehood, establishing themselves among peoples and cultures as a strong-minded and progressive nation,” he stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko added, “Today, when the country is developing and confidently moving forward, it is especially important to cherish love and respect for our native land in our hearts. Only in this way, through joint efforts, we will be able to pass on to our descendants the proud right to be called Belarusians.”
The Head of State sincerely wished all Belarusians good health, well-being and happiness.
