Lukashenko: West wants to turn Belarus into another hotspot on world map

The West is seeking to turn Belarus into another hotspot on the world map – as noted by Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko during the Open Microphone with the President event, featuring students of the Vitebsk Region universities

The Belarusian leader noted that the current struggle for global technological leadership, like the arms race in the second half of the last century, has brought the world to the edge of the abyss again, “It is already sparking in some parts of the world, with confrontation going on with weapons in hands somewhere. We understand that technological monopolists represented by Western states will do everything to prevent the transfer of knowledge and technology to developing countries. These countries are viewed by the collective West merely as suppliers of labour and markets. This is something similar to neo-colonialism in its purest form.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the introduction of illegal sanctions, various restrictions, the flourishing of chauvinistic, nationalist and other destructive ideologies in the West are links in the same chain.

“These pursue a single goal: to preserve the world order based on their rules by all means. These are rules that provide them with a well-fed life, primarily at our expense. And we are being dragged into this confrontation in the fields of economics, science and technology. However, the goal is to turn Belarus into another hotspot on the world map.”
