Lukashenko: we’ll die if we don’t work hard
The state has created all the conditions for people to develop and earn money in Belarus – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko during his conversation with Grodno residents
The President underlined that the state has created all the necessary conditions and opportunities in Belarus for people to develop and earn money. That is, the state provided the ‘fishing rod’, but people themselves need to move and work hard in order to enjoy a decent standard of living. In particular, schoolchildren from different families and regions of Belarus can enter universities and receive higher education. A system of objective assessment of knowledge has been developed in order to select gifted students. Large families receive significant state support, being given a plot of land and an opportunity to build a house, including to run private farm hoisehold and to teach children to work. However, Aleksandr Lukashenko complained that there are cases when the land is not cultivated and the areas around the houses remain abandoned, “We do everything to ensure that you have the opportunity. If there is an opportunity, you have to move yourself. Let’s face the truth: we’ll die if we don’t work hard. There is no other way. Labour has not yet been found to be replaced with something. The major point is that the state must provide opportunities.”
