Lukashenko told children how to make good life choices
If you want to make good choices later in life, you should study hard now, said President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko to children who attended the charity New Year celebration held as part of the Our Children campaign
The Head of State addressed the audience like a father, with wise words of advice.
“You already know you have to study. Studying is everything. You see how life is getting more challenging all the time. But you’re still little, you are so very young. Your whole lives are ahead of you. You have bright heads on your shoulders and no preconceptions. So go ahead and do things! Load your heads with knowledge you get from school. You will need it in your future lives. In order to make good choices down the road, you have to study now. I know, you wake up in the morning sometimes feeling you don’t want to go anywhere, the weather’s rotten, so you just want to stay home. But there’s a word, it has become popular lately: ‘necessary’. So you wake up, you don’t want to go anywhere, much less to school, but remember: it’s necessary, to make your life easier later. Studying is hard. But it’s necessary, because it’s the foundation for your entire life. You can’t have a decent life as an adult without that foundation. So if your teachers or parents go overboard with you sometimes, telling you to study, study, study… just have patience. Remember, it’s necessary,” he said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko went on to congratulate both children and grown-ups on the upcoming New Year. He saved the words of the most heartfelt gratitude for teachers and tutors for their creative work and patience.
“For waking up in the morning and saying: 'It’s necessary’. It’s necessary for you to go to work and teach our future generations. I thank you enormously! Please accept my most sincere best wishes and congratulations on the upcoming holiday. Happy New Year, everyone!” concluded the President.
