Serbia’s Deputy PM: we are proud to have such a friend as Belarus
In his talk with the ONT TV channel, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin shared his views on the Western ‘democracy’ and prospects for Belarus-Serbia co-operation
“The foundations of the West, in which we believed, have been discarded. We were all taught that the West was based on the market economy and multiparty democracy, but neither one nor the other is possible anymore. When it comes to democracy, there is none. Some parties cannot come to power, no matter how many Germans, French or Austrians vote for them. There is no democracy. As for the market economy… A Belarusian, Russian, Chinese or Indian businessman can have all the money in the world, but will fail to buy a company in Europe. They are banned, and the money has suddenly begun being guided by the colour,” Mr. Vulin remarked.
The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister also outlined the prospects for friendship between Minsk and Belgrade, noting that the parties have many reasons and opportunities for further co-operation, “Serbia and Belarus have historical relations. We have not a single difference in our views on what is happening in the world. We are proud to have such a friend as Belarus. In Serbia, we say that we choose our friends, not our friends choose us. Belarus and Serbia are economically compatible countries. We can learn a lot from you. [Look at] the way we co-operate in the military-industrial sphere and agriculture. Famous Belarusian buses were assembled in Kragujevac, and we speak with great confidence about Belarusian tractors that boast an excellent quality.”
