President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Kazakhstan on July 3rd-4th – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service
The Head of State will take part in the summit of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) in Astana. He is also expected to hold a number of meetings and talks with foreign colleagues on the sidelines of the event.
The international forum includes a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of States, alongside a meeting in the SCO Plus format, involving leaders of observer states, distinguished guests and heads of international organisations. The event will be held under the motto: Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue – Striving for Sustainable Peace and Development.
The main issue of the upcoming summit for Belarus is the completion of the procedure for the country’s admission to the SCO membership.
It is planned that in his speech at the summit Aleksandr Lukashenko will touch upon the most significant areas in the SCO work and the contribution that Belarus is ready to make to solving common tasks.
The participants of the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State will discuss issues of further improving the work of the integration association in order to strengthen and deepen multilateral co-operation in the new conditions, and will consider relevant international and regional topics within the SCO region.
It is expected that the Astana Declaration will be adopted at the meeting, as well as more than two dozen different decisions and statements dealing with various areas of co-operation.
