Lukashenko signed decree to appoint Aleksandr Yegorov as Deputy Head of President Administration
Aleksandr Yegorov has been appointed Deputy Head of Belarus’ President Administration in line with Decree No. 87 signed by Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko on March 11th, BelTA reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
Aleksandr Lukashenko made his decision on the appropriate appointment a few days ago. On March 7th, the President held a working meeting with Aleksandr Yegorov, explaining what was the reason for the choice of his candidacy, “You are a young man, and you can see my policy that generations are changing and new persons are coming. This is how it should be, nothing should be frozen. I thought this pyramid could be topped by the Deputy Head of the Administration, and a fresh look of a young man is needed for this purpose. I have seriously studied your candidacy and biography.”
Aleksandr Yegorov was born on June 16th, 1986 in Minsk. In 2007, he graduated from the Belarusian State University and, in 2012, received the master's degree at Williams College.
In 2007-2009, he worked as a first category specialist, a leading specialist of the Department for Analysis and Forecasting of Systemic Banking Risks of the Department for Analysis of Banking System Stability with the Banking Supervision Directorate at Belarus’ National Bank.
In 2009-2011, Mr. Yegorov worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund in Belarus.
In 2012-2013, he was Deputy Head of the Directorate of Financial, Tax, Monetary and Foreign Exchange Policy – Head of the Monetary and Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Head of the Directorate of Financial, Tax, Monetary and Foreign Exchange Policy at Belarus’ Economy Ministry.
In 2013-2015, Mr. Yegorov was Head of the Directorate for Analysis and Forecasting of the Financial Sector at Belarus’ Economy Ministry.
In 2015-2021, he headed the Financial and Economic Department, worked as Director of the Centre for Strategic Development and Economic Research, Executive Director, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of ASB Belarusbank JSC.
From 2021 until March 2024, Mr. Yegorov was Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
