Lukashenko signed decree on circulation of digital signs (tokens)

On September 17th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 367 On Circulation of Digital Signs (Tokens), sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The document was adopted in order to increase the protection of citizens when making transactions with digital signs (tokens), as well as to exclude the possibility of involving cryptocurrencies in fraudulent and other illegal activities.

The decree provides for a ban for individuals, including individual entrepreneurs — High-Tech Park residents, to buy and sell cryptocurrencies outside Belarusian crypto exchanges (crypto exchanges).

The decision will contribute to the development of transparent and controlled circulation of digital signs (tokens), primarily cryptocurrencies, and prevent the withdrawal of funds stolen from citizens' bank accounts from the country by exchanging them for cryptocurrency on foreign crypto platforms.
