Lukashenko, Shoigu discussed preparation and co-ordination of Union State group of troops
At a meeting in Minsk with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, discussed issues of combat training and co-ordination of a Union State joint group, BelTA reports
The corresponding group also includes Russian servicemen stationed on the territory of Belarus. “I’m grateful to you that, despite all the difficulties, you are keeping several thousand Russian servicemen here. We have joined this process to the necessary extent, and we are training these guys together with your officers, we are conducting combat co-ordination,” the Head of State said.
“We are training as it should be because we should not relax. You see that the Poles and Lithuanians have begun to move in our direction. Therefore, this is such a good help and support for the Belarusian army, which protects the Union State on the western flank,” added the President.
