Lukashenko reported by Kochanova on Council of the Republic activities, work of Minsk enterprises, international contacts
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has met with Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, authorised representative of the Head of State in Minsk, today
“Minsk is primarily in focus. Report to me on the situation as you are an authorised official in Minsk, with an emphasis on the issues that we have determined – and especially on economic enterprises,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The President, in particular, asked about the situation at Motovelozavod. “Tell me also how a new team of the Upper House of Parliament has begun working. I am interested in your international contacts and other issues that you consider necessary to discuss,” he said.
Ms. Kochanova stressed that the Council of the Republic had started its work in a new composition, “We have already held four meetings, and 31 bills have been adopted. We are actively working now in the inter-sessional period.”
According to the Speaker of the Council of the Republic, a new parliamentary session opens on September 17th. “Everyone has got involved into the work quite actively. We work with people. We study the draft laws that have been submitted to us at the expert council,” she added.
