Lukashenko reported by heads of law enforcement agencies
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has been reported by heads of law enforcement agencies, the Belarusian leader’s press service informs
KGB Chief Ivan Tertel reported to the Head of State on the operational situation around Belarus, as well as the situation inside the country. The State Security Committee employees primarily focus on issues of ensuring the safety of Belarusian citizens in terms of their area of responsibility. KGB is operating in an enhanced regime jointly with colleagues from other law enforcement agencies.
Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov reported on the crime situation, ongoing preventive measures and work to ensure public safety on these festive days. The President instructed the Interior Ministry to take on an enhanced duty regime and involve all units, internal troops and its central office for this purpose.
Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky reported on the measures taken to prevent emergencies – including with an emphasis on fire safety and other issues of ensuring the vital activity of citizens within the framework of the relevant areas of the Emergencies Ministry.
Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin reported to the Commander-in-Chief on the situation around Belarus – including on the border with neighbouring countries. Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to strengthen vigilance so that the citizens of Belarus could safely celebrate New Year's holidays.
In his report to the President, Konstantin Molostov, the Chairman of the State Border Committee, emphasised strengthening the protection of the state border. Given the acute situation in neighbouring countries, the border guards – despite the holidays – fully carry out measures to protect the state border and prevent attempts at illegal actions. This work is carried out, among other things, in co-operation with law enforcement agencies, the military, authorities, and the local population.
The President also asked the heads of law enforcement agencies to congratulate the personnel of ministries and departments on his behalf on the upcoming New Year, and especially those who will be on duty on the New Year night.
