Lukashenko presented Belarus-made axe at master class on firewood chopping
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has presented an axe of domestic production during the third firewood chopping championship among journalists held today near Minsk, BelTA reports
Immediately upon arrival at the competition, the Head of State offered a master class on firewood chopping. “To chop firewood, you need to take an appropriate axe and then have a look at a woodblock: on seeing a crack, you should split directly through it,” he explained. “The nature itself has defined where the fibres are weaker, so it will be easier to split right there. It is no need to hurry, but it is necessary to look at the point which you want to strike with an axe."
The President demonstrated several axes that he uses for chopping firewood, and also presented a Belarus-made axe. As noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, the tool is quite good, it is slightly heavier than imported axes.
The Head of State has long instructed to make a domestic axe, and the first version was produced at MTZ. However, as noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, it was not very good.
The persons accompanying the President also took part in firewood chopping. After that, the Head of State watched the competitions.
