The general trend of increasing turnover between Belarus and Russia is reflected by the dynamics of trade between the republic and the Vladimir Region which reached the highest level since 2017 last year – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his today’s meeting with the Governor of the Vladimir Region, Aleksandr Avdeyev

In particular, the Head of State noted that the trade turnover between Belarus and the Vladimir Region reached almost $500m last year, growing in general by 20 percent against the 2021 figures. “Positive dynamics was also registered in the three months of this year: compared to the same period in 2022, our trade turnover increased by almost a third. We need to preserve this pace at all costs. Good ups are often registered, and they are followed by downturns. So we need to avoid such sharp fluctuations,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Belarus supplies and intends to continue offering products of mechanical engineering, machine tool construction, woodworking, chemical and light industry, and agro-industrial complex. “I know that there are wishes for breeding, land reclamation, and much more. Basically, you are doing the same that we are doing. We probably started doing that a little earlier, so you, Aleksandr Aleksandrovich [Avdeyev], can count on us in this regard,” he added.

At the same time, products of the Vladimir Region’s mechanical engineering, chemical industry, machine tool construction, food and many other industries enjoy a great demand in Belarus.

“Our domestic passenger, cargo, agricultural, municipal, road construction machinery and elevator equipment meet the level of world standards, their quality and reliability have been tested by long-term operation, while the model range and product line are constantly updated. Therefore, we are at your service. We will show you everything that you are interested in,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed his guest.

The Head of State believes that, during the visit, the Russian side will determine what kind of equipment the Vladimir Region needs today, and Belarus, in turn, will provide supplies as soon as possible.

“You know that the Vladimir Region is the same as Belarus. We know that you are not super-rich. Just like us, you are achieving everything through work, and our people are the same. Therefore, we have a good basis for our co-operation. We are always ready for this," the President summed up.
