Lukashenko: our people determine themselves further development of the state
The President of Belarus stated this while accepting credentials from ambassadors of foreign states
Addressing the diplomats, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that they begin their cadence at a special, even epoch-making time for Belarus, “In three weeks, a referendum will be held in Belarus, where the Belarusian people will consider amendments to the Constitution. It is fundamentally important that our people determine themselves the further development of the state. I would like to underline: without any pressure from outside. That is why we consider this political campaign to be fully in line with all democratic norms.”
The President expressed the opinion that the new ambassadors still have time to understand the essence of the processes taking place in our country. He invited diplomats to have sincere discussions with representatives of government agencies, as well as with Belarusian experts, journalists, and activists of public organisations, “All doors in Belarus are open for you. Meanwhile, in order to better understand how Belarus lives today, you also need to know how the Belarusian people won their freedom and their right to live in their own state.”
According to the President, today Belarus is actively working in traditional markets while developing new ones, “We invite all states to mutually beneficial co-operation. We have something to offer in industry, agriculture, construction, pharmaceuticals and many other areas. We are also ready to develop trusting relationships in cultural, educational, scientific, sports and other humanitarian spheres.”
The Head of State suggested that many of the diplomats starting to work in Belarus have already thoroughly studied the structure of the Belarusian economy and, perhaps, have outlined for themselves the most promising areas for interaction and collaboration.
Aleksandr Lukashenko assured the ambassadors, “It is also important for us that you take the time to get to know the rich history and unique culture of Belarus, the traditions and hospitality of our people. I have no doubt that here you will find new good friends.”
The Head of State sincerely congratulated the diplomats on the start of their responsible diplomatic mission and wished them health, well-being and great success in their work.
“I really want this period of your life to remain memorable and very productive,” stressed Aleksandr Lukashenko.
