Lukashenko on working trip to Vitebsk Region
The President is on a working trip to the Tolochin District today. In particular, the Head of State will visit Amkodor-KEZ JSC in Kokhanovo – to be reported there on the state and prospects of Amkodor’s development, ensuring the supply of equipment for the land reclamation needs, improving its service and warranty maintenance.
Aleksandr Lukashenko will also get acquainted with the production process and then take part in a plenary session of the Republican seminar-meeting on the issues of restoration and use of reclaimed land in the country.
In recent times, the President has addressed the problem of land reclamation more than once. In April, during his working trip to the Chechersk District, he demanded that responsible officials seriously engage in land reclamation. “This is a state issue. Roads, land reclamation, land fertility are our issues,” he said then.
Aleksandr Lukashenko gave special instructions to Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats in this regard, “Fly over [the fields] after the sowing campaign – and you will see how much carelessness is here. We need to save these lands right now.”
The Head of State then stressed that it is annually necessary to reclaim 200,000 hectares of land and seek funds for this purpose from various sources – whatever it costs.
Later, during his working trip to the Orsha District in June, the President once again commented on the topic, “We need to talk about land reclamation – which is a very serious issue. This year, we should – Zayats [Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats] knows this problem well – receive a proposal on how to reclaim and how to finance, also determining the proportion and volumes. This is the most important point.”
Amkodor-KEZ specialises in production of reclamation, construction and special equipment. From January-September 2022, its production volumes amounted to Br14.2m (growth rate of 135.9 percent). Belarus and Russia are the company’s traditional sales markets.
