In the beginning of his speech, the Head of State addressed the solemn ceremony participants in Belarusian, “Christmas days create a special atmosphere and inspire for good deeds, and that has been the case since ancient times. This is how we perceive this bright holiday at present as well. Our ceremony honouring the winners of the Spiritual Revival award and special prizes of the President on the first days of the new year is rooted in it.”

As noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, the event has already become a tradition of sovereign Belarus. “We cannot imagine these magical days without a wonderful solemn moment: the minutes of deserved glory of our worthy people,” he said, also in Belarusian.

According to the Head of State, all the laureates are true zealots, creators of real art, guardians of the Belarusian nation’s soul. “We are celebrating today the merits of the figures of culture who preserve and enrich our national treasury, arouse interest in folk crafts, and foster respect for our traditions,” he stressed.

Among the awardees are clergymen, doctors, and social workers. These are the persons who have extended a helping hand to the ones who faced difficulties, who are selflessly and sincerely caring for children living through difficult times. “We are proud of the successes of our famous athletes and coaches – who have been awarded the Belarusian Sports Olympus prizes – at the world's largest tournaments,” the Head of State added.

“All the achievements of our laureates and their activities are of a serious spiritual and patriotic significance, and this is especially important now – in the period when the country is preparing to celebrate the sacred date: 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. We cherish the memory of the past, confidently move forward and boldly look into the future. Thank you for your achievements and victories," Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked the laureates.
