Lukashenko on Older Person’s Day: work of older generation laid foundation for national wealth

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated elderly people of the country on Older Person’s Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State addressed his most sincere words of gratitude for the huge contribution to the development of native Belarus, “The selfless work of the older generations who survived the Great Patriotic War and raised the country from the ruins is the foundation for our national wealth. You built cities, constructed industrial enterprises, restored agriculture, taught children, achieved sports victories, and made scientific discoveries.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, many citizens of the older generation are still active today, continuing to work, taking part in public and political life, educating youngsters, and generously sharing their wisdom and experience.

“We, Belarusians, always treat those who are older than us with respect, so taking care of the elderly and veterans has been and will be among the priorities of Belarus’ social policy,” the President underlined.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished elderly people strong health, inexhaustible energy, as well as endless warmth and attention from their loved ones.
