Lukashenko on mobilisation of women: it’s out of desperation

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has a negative attitude towards the idea of mobilising women into the army. He stated this in the Kremlin, answering a question from Russian journalists in connection with previously made assumptions on this issue in Ukraine.

“What’s your attitude towards mobilisation of women?” the reporters asked.

“My attitude is very negative. Women should fly into space. If they really want to join the army, let them serve. But sending women who should give birth to the army to certain death is complete stupidity. It’s out of desperation. I’m against it.”
