Lukashenko on ban on entry of Belarusian cars into Lithuania: they are madmen, they do not understand what they are doing
In today’s interview with Rossiya TV channel, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the ban on the entry of cars with Belarusian license plates into Lithuania
Answering the corresponding question of the journalist, the Head of State stressed, “They are madmen! If I were you, I would not comment on many questions regarding Lithuania. This is because they do not actually know what they are doing. They are true madmen, so what is the need to talk about them. If there were responsible politicians there, we could discuss their policies – but there are no responsible politicians there.”
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, from an economic point of view, there are even advantages to this decision of the Lithuanian authorities. “Thank God, our people will stop exporting money (there are fewer cases now) outside Belarus and Russia. The same refers to Russians. The money will stay here. As a result of this so-called economic tourism, huge sums were exported from here,” he explained. “Let's be honest: in the European Union (I am not talking about Lithuania, there's nothing left there), they brought their goods to Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, and Russians and Belarusians went there, taking out huge amounts of money, billions of Dollars. Well, they will not do that anymore.”
The Head of State added that, from a political point of view, Lithuanian politicians do everything that the citizens of Lithuania do not like. “No matter what we say about Lithuanians, they are known as very hardworking people since Soviet times. They compare the life of the USSR times and of present days. In the Soviet Union period, Ukraine and Lithuania were pearls. Lithuania was a very developed country, and we can name its radio receivers, cars and other products from the Soviet era. They could actually have developed them to the level of Mercedes, for example. Meanwhile, they have nothing at present, and therefore they cannot offer their own goods. Those so-called Lithuanian ones have been manufactured at a plant built by Germans, or someone else. So they were bringing products from all over the union, up to the Anglo-Saxons, closer to the border (there were enough such shops), while we seemed to be unhappy with our own domestically produced goods. You see, it was necessary to buy something of foreign origin. Those without a Gucci or a Versace looked alien,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
At the same time, the President noted that he personally wears Belarusian suits, “I advise you to just ignore this madness. We can mention equally the madness of the West and the European Union, when speaking of the condition they can bring their satellites (which have not played and do not play any role in history) to.”
