Lukashenko: Minsk, Islamabad enjoy really warm and brotherly relations
On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the national holiday: Pakistan Day, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that historic day had become a defining one for the Pakistani nation on the path to independence. According to him, Pakistan is now a strong, prosperous state that is dynamically developing, looking to the future with confidence.
"It is pleasant to note that Minsk and Islamabad have developed really warm and fraternal relations. Their mutual interest in deepening bilateral co-operation in various sectors is growing, trade is expanding, and business ties are being successfully established. I take advantage of the festive occasion to confirm Belarus' high interest in intensifying multifaceted contacts with Pakistan," the congratulatory message to Asif Ali Zardari reads.
The Belarusian leader stressed in his message to Shehbaz Sharif that traditional friendship, mutual respect and trust between the two countries are a reliable foundation for further deepening bilateral political contacts, strengthening the positive dynamics of trade and economic co-operation, and expanding humanitarian ties. “I hope that a high-level visit to Pakistan this year, in accordance with previous agreements, will give an additional impetus to the development of a fruitful Belarusian-Pakistani dialogue," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
