Lukashenko met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Samarkand
Immediately after his arrival in Samarkand for the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation summit, Belarus’ Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko held a number of bilateral meetings, and the first one was with the event’s host – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, BelTA reports

In 2021, the Belarus-Uzbekistan trade turnover amounted to $301.9m (107.8 percent against 2020): exports made $245.4m (103.3 percent) and imports – $56.5m (132.5 percent). The balance was positive: $188.9m. Specific goods, meat and meat products, medicines, vinyl chloride polymers, milk powder, diagnostic reagents, vaccines, blood serums, chipboard plates, cheeses and cottage cheese were exported, while imports included cotton yarn, grapes, specific goods, fresh and dried fruits, rolled copper, bed linen, knitted fabrics, sweaters, pullovers, cardigans, knitted vests, tungsten and products made from it.
In January-July 2022, the positive dynamics of trade in goods remained, and their volume reached $243.2m (150.6 percent against the same period in 2021). Exports amounted to $187.6m (139.3 percent) and imports – $55.6m (2.1 times growth).
Last year, the volume of mutual trade in services was $52.6m (156.7 percent against 2020): exports stood at $42.3m (151.4 percent) and imports made $10.3m (183 percent).
In January-June 2022, the turnover of services amounted to $23.1m (77.9 percent against the same period in 2021): exports made $18.3m (77.3 percent) and imports – $4.8m (80.1 percent).
107 organisations with Belarusian capital are registered in Uzbekistan, and an assembly facility of domestic equipment was created there with participation of Belarusian capital: AMKODOR-AGROTEXMASH (AMKODOR JSC as its founder). Co-operation between MAZ JSC and KRANTAS GROUP JSC, MTZ JSC and Uzavtosanoat JSC continues in the field of production of vehicles and tractors. In turn, Marko is implementing a joint project in Uzbekistan dealing with footwear production, while Svetlogorsk Welding Electrode Plant JSC is realising an investment project to produce welding electrodes. BELAZ JSC is studying a possibility of organising a large-scale assembly of its machinery in Uzbekistan, and Belkommunmash JSC has sent a comprehensive proposal for the sale of tram cars to Uzbekistan and construction of the necessary infrastructure. Proposals for the supply of electric buses have also been submitted for participation in a tender for the purchase of transport.
