Lukashenko made personnel appointments in Armed Forces
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has made personnel appointments in the Armed Forces, with the corresponding decrees signed by the Head of State on July 28th – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service
Major General Vladimir Kupriyanyuk has been appointed Chief of the Central Intelligence Office – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Major General Ruslan Kosygin, who has held this position until now, was dismissed from military service to the reserve due to his age with the right to wear military uniforms and insignia.
Instead of Vladimir Kupriyanyuk, Colonel Aleksandr Lavrenov has been appointed Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces.
Personnel changes also took place in the leadership of the Central Military Inspectorate of the Armed Forces. Major General Andrei Gorbatenko, who until now has headed the Minsk Suvorov Military School, has been appointed its head. Major General Ivan Boguslavsky, the previous Chief of the Inspectorate, was dismissed from military service to the reserve due to his age with the right to wear military uniforms and insignia.
Colonel Dmitry Kuchuk has been appointed to the post of Head of Minsk’s Suvorov Military School instead of Andrei Gorbatenko.
