Lukashenko: if Poles try to occupy west of Ukraine, we’ll support Ukrainians
If Poland tries to seize Ukraine, Belarus will support Ukrainians – as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s conversation with residents of the agro-town of Parokhonsk
Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that Poland has its own interests in Ukraine, and the attitude of the Polish elites towards Ukraine is appropriate. The main stumbling block between the countries now is the so-called Volyn massacre – anti-Polish ethnic cleansings conducted by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army during the Great Patriotic War.
The Belarusian leader noted that Poland’s claims are based on its desire to occupy ‘both western Ukraine and western Belarus and dominate there’, “This is unacceptable to us. If only Poles get into Ukraine and try to occupy the west of the country, we will support Ukrainians, because we understand that we will be next in line.”
