Lukashenko honoured active work of UN Secretary General on de-escalation of the international situation
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on his birthday, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports
"I am confident that many years of your experience, high professionalism and active work as the Secretary General of the United Nations aimed at de-escalating the international situation, increasing the role of the UN as a universal platform for equal dialogue will contribute to finding optimal solutions to counter a number of modern risks, challenges and threats," the Belarusian leader noted. "Thanks to your activity, the UN remains one of the few symbols of the consolidation of the world community, gives hope and concrete assistance to countries and peoples who today experience a special need for it."
Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed great gratitude to Antonio Guterres for his tireless attempts to strengthen food security in the world in the current difficult political conditions, including by using the opportunities of Belarus as a major producer of fertilisers and agricultural products. "I confirm Minsk's readiness to continue co-operation with the UN in resolving this most important issue," the President stressed.
"You can always count on Belarus," Aleksandr Lukashenko assured.
The Head of State wished Antonio Guterres good health and fruitful activity.
