Lukashenko held talks with PM of Vietnam in Kazan

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chin on the side-lines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan

The legal framework of Belarus and Vietnam includes 106 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.

In 2023, the bilateral trade turnover reached $247.7m (137.7 percent against the 2022 figures), and exports stood at $84.6m. The main export items are potash fertilisers, medicines, milk powder, and whey.

One entity of Belarus’ distribution network operates in Vietnam: the representative office of MAZ JSC. A contract for the supply of 150 machine kits is being implemented. Apron buses of the Minsk Automobile Plant are being adapted to the needs of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam. In addition, a joint venture specialising in the assembly of trucks is operational. A regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical co-operation between the countries is being prepared for Q4 2024.
