Lukashenko granted Rogozhnik powers of Deputy PM overseeing relations with Russia

On July 8th, the Head of State, Aleksandr Lukashenko, signed decree, appointing Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik Belarus’ Plenipotentiary Representative to the CIS Economic Council and Belarus’ Special Representative for integration co-operation affairs in the Union State, the EAEU, the CIS and the CSTO, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

In line with the decree, Aleksandr Rogozhnik is vested with the powers of Deputy PM to oversee Belarus’ activities within the framework of the Union State and relations with Russia. He will co-ordinate the activities of republican government bodies and other organisations subordinate to the Government, representatives of Belarus in the Union State bodies, give them mandatory instructions and monitor their implementation.

At the same time, Aleksandr Rogozhnik is personally responsible for promoting Belarus’ national interests in the Union State and relations with Russia.
