Lukashenko congratulates People’s Writer of Belarus Nikolai Cherginets on his 85th birthday
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has sent congratulations to People’s Writer of Belarus Nikolai Cherginets on his 85th birthday – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service
“Your life is a vivid example of serving your nation and Motherland. The hard times of war, work in law enforcement agencies, fulfilment of international duty in Afghanistan, direct participation in the creation of the Union of Belarus and Russia, representation of the interests of Belarus in the UN are milestones on a long journey, which are reflected in your work,” the message of congratulation reads.
The President noted that Nikolai Cherginets is one of the most popular contemporary Belarusian writers. More than fifty of his books have been translated into eighteen languages. The audience highly appreciated the feature films based on his novels: Escape from Death, Your Task, and Major Vetrov.
“Civil position and authority enabled you to preserve and develop the Union of Writers of Belarus public association, which you headed for more than fifteen years,” the Head of State underlined. “I am sure that in the future, as the honorary chairman of the Belarusian Writers’ Union and co-chairman of the Writers’ Union of the Union State, you will continue to work to consolidate society on the basis of patriotism, unity and harmony.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Nikolai Cherginets strong health, inexhaustible inspiration, happiness and prosperity.
