Lukashenko congratulated Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Independence Day
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
"The proclamation of an independent political course in 1962 marked the beginning of a new stage in the history of your country, opened up opportunities for its sustainable socio-economic development," the message of congratulations reads. "Uganda's policy is based on the principles of self-determination of peoples that are close to Belarusians, as well as peaceful coexistence, respect, non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, preservation of traditional values and culture."
Belarus, as the President stressed, considers Uganda to be its promising partner in East Africa. "We have significant potential to increase the level of bilateral contacts and the dynamics of co-operation," the Belarusian leader added.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Yoweri Museveni excellent health, optimism and new successes in solving state tasks, also wishing peace and harmony to all Ugandans.
