“I’m convinced that your long-term diplomatic experience will serve to increase Ethiopia’s constructive role in the African region and solve problems on the global agenda. Minsk and Addis Ababa have long enjoyed traditionally friendly relations. Their history is much longer than three decades of official diplomatic relations that we celebrate this year,” the congratulatory message reads. “I consider your country to be our true friend and support in Africa and confirm my interest in significantly increasing the dynamics of co-operation across a wide range of areas."
Aleksandr Lukashenko hopes that Ethiopia will continue to support Belarus on the issue of joining BRICS. “As a state with an independent position, we are firm supporters of the basic principles of this influential international association: multipolarity, equality and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states,” the Head of State stressed.
The President invited his colleague to pay a visit to Belarus, during which it will be possible to discuss all topical issues and agree on ways to deepen Belarusian-Ethiopian liaisons.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Taye Atske Selassie strong health, implementation of plans and success in a responsible government position.
