Lukashenko congratulated tank crew veterans and military personnel of relevant units on Tanker’s Day

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to tank crew veterans, military personnel of mechanised formations, tank military units of the Armed Forces and tank repair enterprises of Belarus on Tanker's Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

“This holiday is a testimony to the recognition of the merits of tank troops in the noble cause of serving the Fatherland, a tribute to the feat of all generations of tank crew members who gave their lives for the Motherland,” the congratulatory message reads.

As noted by the Head of State, it was tank troops who played a key role eighty years ago in the successful Bagration Operation, the liberation of Minsk and the final expulsion of the enemy from the Belarusian land.

“The current generation of tank crew members sacredly preserves the victorious traditions of the heroic generation of winners, constantly improving their professionalism and tactics of using formidable combat vehicles in modern conditions,” the President added. “Tanker's Day is also a holiday for engineers, designers, repairmen and other specialists of the domestic military-industrial complex, who ensure the maintenance of equipment in constant combat readiness.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that tank units and subunits of the Armed Forces of Belarus will continue to be a reliable shield for the country and its people against any aggressors, be a guarantor of peace and security.

“I wish you all good health, peace, prosperity and new military successes in your service for the benefit of your native Belarus,” the Head of State stressed.
