Lukashenko congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as President of Iran

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

“The successful conduct of the electoral campaign in difficult circumstances for your country is an unconditional victory for the Iranian people, who continue to walk an independent path of development with dignity and steadfastly. The election results confirm your high political authority and indicate public support for the course of the country’s leadership to defend Iran’s national interests, create prospects for its citizens and liaise with the countries of your region,” the congratulatory message reads.

“The dialogue between Minsk and Tehran is steadily expanding at all levels. I’m convinced that in the near future we will be able to implement all the agreements reached, including on giving the Belarusian-Iranian relations the character of a strategic partnership,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko invited Masoud Pezeshkian to pay an official visit to Belarus at a convenient time for him to discuss the most pressing issues on the bilateral agenda and further co-operation between the countries in international organisations and associations. The Head of State also wished him strong health and success in his responsible state post.
