As noted by the President, key institutions of state power have been created, and citizens’ rights and freedoms guaranteed thanks to the Constitution. “The voice of the people – that supports the continuity of the best traditions of the past era – has become the key to preserving peace and harmony in society. The unprecedented trust of the citizens of Belarus in the political system has made it possible to build a stable and independent state. Meanwhile, the fundamental values enshrined in the Basic Law – such as social justice, the traditional family, and historical truth – are the right guidelines for us, and they help overcome modern challenges and look confidently into the future,” he said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko added that the Belarusian People's Congress is symbolically beginning its work this year – for the first time in constitutional status. Acting in a new role, this supreme representative body of the people's power will become another powerful pillar of Belarusian statehood.
