Lukashenko congratulated African Union Chairman on Africa Day
On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Chairman of the African Union Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, and, through him, all heads of state and government of the continent on Africa Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
As noted by the Belarusian leader, Africa, without exaggeration, plays a very significant role in the life of the entire planet at present. “It is not just a huge market in terms of its scale and natural resources, but also a treasure trove of original culture. They open in all their greatness to those who come here with good intentions, as a true friend and reliable partner," the congratulatory message reads. “Belarus is exactly one of them." According to the President, Belarus is known as such in many African capitals, and the space of interaction is expanding every year. "Our main focus is on support in deepening competencies in industry, agriculture, creating new jobs, organising medical care, ensuring food security, and training personnel in a wide range of areas," the Head of State stressed.
The President noted Minsk's readiness to co-operate fruitfully with the African Union and its member states, as well as to contribute to the success of the African Renaissance, support the rights of peoples to self-determination and the protection of their sovereignty. Aleksandr Lukashenko also confirmed Belarus' openness to any forms of interaction, including participation in the work of the Assembly of the African Union in accordance with its Rules of Procedure.
"I count on your support as Chairman of the African Union for Belarusian partnership initiatives and invite you to pay an official visit to Minsk to discuss a wide range of issues on the international and regional agendas," the President stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Mohamed Ould Ghazouani and all the heads of state and government of Africa peace, health and success in responsible activities for the benefit of progress and well-being of their peoples.
