Lukashenko confident Belarus and Israel to find ways to intensify political dialogue and contacts
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of Israel Isaac Herzog and all Israelis on Independence Day, BelTA reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
“Every nation has the right to self-determination and protection of its interests. However, we sincerely hope for the early establishment of lasting peace in the Middle East and the achievement of a compromise on the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,” the congratulatory message reads.
According to the President, the deep historical ties between Belarusians and Jews go beyond politics. Now these ties have an even more significant impact on the formation of friendly and close relations.
“I’m convinced that in the year of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Chaim Weizmann, a native of Belarus, the first President of Israel, our countries will find ways to intensify political dialogue and contacts across such sectors as trade, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, education, high technology and tourism,” the Belarusian leader stressed. “The restoration of transport routes between our states would greatly contribute to the maintenance of interpersonal and business ties.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Isaac Herzog and his family strong health and well-being, and the citizens of Israel prosperity and progress under a peaceful sky.
