Lukashenko commented on next major construction site in Minsk
The commissioning of the Minsk International Exhibition Centre as part of the Northern Waterfront project will be the next large-scale construction project in the Belarusian capital – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during a meeting with youth activists. The Head of State noted that he is often asked what the next construction project will be in Minsk after the National Library, the Minsk-Arena and Chizhovka-Arena complexes, the Palace of Independence and other landmark sites.
The President said, “Personally for me, it is very important to complete the construction of International Exhibition Centre of Belarus which is being built near the Minsk ring road. It will represent a bird: a stork. The roof is already being put up there. The Arabs are building at their own expense. I let them come here to build a ‘smart city’, but [gave] a burden to construct a good exhibition centre.”
According to the Head of State, the centre will demonstrate everything that is produced in modern Belarus, “We need this exhibition centre, enabling people to come and be proud of what we do. I’m convinced that even adults don’t know everything. To learn everything it’s necessary to travel around Belarus and visit enterprises, but here it will be concentrated in one place.”
