Lukashenko commented on how to preserve and secure the country

Everyone in his place must do everything in his power to save the country – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at a meeting with representatives of the Gomel Region. The meeting was a frank and detailed analysis of the state of affairs not only in the region’s economy. The issues raised are relevant for the whole country.

In this regard, the Head of State stressed, “Everyone should now work hard in his place, especially in the Gomel Region. Guys, you are actually at the front. Save the country. This is not only and not so much for me. This is for you. We can save the country only if we exert ourselves and solve the problems. Listen, we don’t even need to strain ourselves. It is just necessary that everyone does their job properly – and there will be a result. We must accelerate: where we walked, we must run; where we ran, we must run even faster.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarus is caught between geopolitical giants, “There’s a war from one side, there’s NATO expansion from the other side. It’s not easy for us right now. It’s not without a reason that I’m dragging nuclear weapons here. It is necessary to secure the country so that they were afraid even to look in our direction. Otherwise, we will again find ourselves under someone’s boot. I want you to take this message first of all from me. This is not an escalation. What is there to fuel tensions? You know better than me what’s going on.”

The Head of State drew attention to the fact that citizens of neighbouring countries visit Belarus with pleasure, “Now these scoundrels have closed the border. They covered with concrete, planted mines – no drive, no pass. But that’s their problem. They don’t let their people in. Poles and Lithuanians close checkpoints, create problems, first of all for their own people, so that they do not come to us. Because, returning from us, their people say that the authorities of their countries have lost their mind; they don’t understand why they can’t live peacefully with the Belarusians. That is, it is already developing into politics. So let’s get together. Let’s do something wherever we can. I hope that at the end of the year we will have a normal conversation with you. I would very much like the Gomel Region to be, as always, strong and courageous. You simply need to mobilise your energy.”
