Lukashenko: Belarusians need to live year 2025 and coming years so that not to feel embarrassed to face future generations

It is necessary to live year 2025 and the five-year period in general in such a way that there is no shame in front of future generations – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s meeting focusing on the approval of the state investment programme for 2025, BelTA reports

The Head of State noted that this year, like the entire five-year period, will be challengeable. “I am saying this openly. None of the Presidential candidates – as you can understand – sees this, since they do not have access to the information [that the current Head of State has]. Therefore, I am talking as the current President with you. I stared warning you six months ago, and we already see what is happening,” Aleksander Lukashenko addressed those present.

According to the President, the economic indicators in Russia are among the main factors that will influence the situation in the country somehow. “Our main market is Russia, and it will be the main market. At the same time, we need to understand that it will be very difficult in the Russian market. It will not be easier in the CIS market as well,” he said.

For example, the forecast for key development indicators in Russia is extremely cautious: economic growth in the range of 1.5–2.5 percent, double-digit bank rates, and a growing budget deficit (more than 1.2 trillion Roubles). “With this in view, we need to be more active. We must live not only this year, but also the entire five-year period in such a way that it would not be shameful, that we would not feel embarrassed to face future generations," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
