Lukashenko: Belarus steadily moving forward along the road of peace and creation for 85 years
Belarus is ready to contribute to building peace and is doing everything for this – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko at today’s If We Are United patriotic forum
The Head of State emphasised that, through the harsh trials of time and serious losses, Belarus has been steadily moving forward along the path of peace and creation for eighty-five years, multiplying national wealth based on the experience of previous generations.
“Even now, when NATO guns are aimed at us from the territories of our western and southern neighbours, when kilometres of fences and minefields are multiplying along the borders, we respond simply and in the best traditions of ‘the last dictatorship of Europe’: we are opening our borders, and we are not asking for visas to visit us. People on the other side [of the border] hear us. They arrive, look and draw conclusions not in favour of those who forbid them to come here,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The President emphasised, “Belarus has been and remains a supporter of peace. Our large-scale peace initiatives are heard from the rostrum of the United Nations, on the platforms of international forums. We propose to discuss the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century. You know who does not need this multipolarity…”
Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that Belarusians will definitely find a way out of the global security crisis, as they are supported by the closest allies and many countries of the world. “Nobody has managed to isolate Belarus, and this will never happen. We are increasingly being heard and supported in the world. I am absolutely convinced, I am sure that the Western elites will soon understand that the only way is to come to an agreement. This is what our peoples want. We, Belarusians, are a peaceful and hardworking nation, and we do not want a war,” he stressed.
The Head of State added that Belarusians believe that the day will come when peace will reign in the neighbouring countries, when blood-related people, close and distant friends will live in harmony and friendship.
“Belarus is ready to contribute to building this world, and it is doing everything for this. However, as I have already said, Belarusian peacefulness should not be understood and mistaken for weakness… We sacredly honour the memory of all those who selflessly defended the right of Belarusians to be called a nation, who paid for it at the cost of their lives and youth. We will not allow anyone to encroach on the holy land of our ancestors, on the independence and sovereignty of our Motherland. We will consistently defend our ancestral values and the truth, as our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers did,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
