The Head of State advised those present to take matters very seriously, like biathlete Anton Smolsky, who was awarded the Honoured Master of Sports honorary title. In particular, the President recalled the biathlete’s recent success at the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup in Sochi.
“He went on the Olympic track, covered three distances and claimed three brilliant victories. No options. If we all have this attitude towards work, if we mind our own business, nothing will be able to frighten us. And we will never have a war. Wars unfold and happen where people stop working. Having stopped working, they start looking for this wild, terrible job, killing each other. Therefore, I always wish for you to have your own job, to see your family and be able to protect your children and grandchildren. The military and I will do our job if you do your job with dignity in peacetime.”
