Lukashenko: assistance to villages in terms of housing will be strengthened
Belarus will strengthen state support for housing construction in rural areas – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s working trip to the Pinsk District
The Head of State noted the importance of building comfortable housing to attract personnel to work in the agricultural and other spheres, “Accommodation should be built in places where jobs are available.”
According to the President, it is necessary to build rental housing for employees, and the head of a farm or a company should manage this housing, “You invite people to work [for your company], and you conclude contracts with employees. Those who leave you should vacate their houses as well.”
At the same time, this approach does not negate the possibility of building people’s own housing if they wish. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “This should be encouraged when people build their own accommodation. If you lack employees, then you can attract them with housing and salaries. This is the key point.”
The same should be done not only with regard to agricultural workers, but also other industries. The President believes it is no need to concentrate all labour resources in cities to the detriment of rural areas. “We should take it for granted. At present, we attract people to Minsk and then think of how to employ them, how to build schools, kindergartens, and so on. It is necessary to build housing in areas where it is needed, and the same is also true about education. Everything needs to be put in order,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
